Closet Visit

Why do we like what we LIKE?

What makes us inexplicably drawn to the rose motif on a scarf? Or the chartreuse couch pillows? Maybe it’s the cliched little bird that demands our glazed swooning eyes every time… either way we like things so very much to the point where these patterns and textures, colors and forms, become a part of us.

CLOSET VISIT is the “facebook” of fashion, similar to Style Like U. We are allowed to peak into the closets of pretty ladies who have honed in on their fashion sense and know what they like. Visit http://cargocollective.com/closetvisit.

For the love of it: Nyc Inspiration

Bring me back to Bedstuy…

Williamsburg Brooklyn, Bunny Hop

Coming from the stylishly lackadaisical  Portland Oregon, NYC is always popping with fashion inspiration. From the 6ft glamazons, Givenchy  wearing teeny boppers, and straight out of Vogue ghetto girls, there are no excuses not to look one’s best, no matter the weather.

For style ideas and imagery I happened upon a great coffee table book titled, Style Like U. They take you inside the closets of the fashion world’s most eccentric and worldly.

I agree that if so privileged, our clothing attire is an art form, a living, moving, grooving masterpiece. An outward expression of laughter and pizzazz, juiciness, and joy.

The reason I had the pleasure of visiting NYC this past week was to visit my sister for her one and only 21st birthday. Needless to say the debauchery was timeless, but swizzle sticks aside, the subways of the city never ceased to impress the senses. Here are two examples of people doing their art form simply for the love of it.
