“Safari as a way of life” -Dan Eldon

An Urge. An Impulse. A Desire. No, I’m not talking about your sexy neighbor or the melting Italian gelato…

I’m talking about the need to be a part of something larger than yourself. A need to help others and strive for nothing less than a ripple effect of positivity. It’s the kind of longing that doesn’t go away, seeing that there are many woes that straddle the earth and it’s inhabitants.

I recently discovered an organization called the Creative Visions Foundation. It was started by the mother of Dan Eldon and aims to keep his spirit alive. Dan was an ambitious artist, adventurer, and humanitarian journalist who was killed in Somalia in 1993.  The Foundation aims to inspire people of all ages all over the world by supporting creative projects that evoke change and offer hope to all.

Dan Eldon Collages:

Will you take a leap of faith?

The Desert Flower Blooms: Find The Strength To Live Your Beauty

Desert Flower is the inspiring story of Waris Dirie, a Somali refugee turned Supermodel who was the first woman to internationally share her story of female genital mutilation (FGM).

Waris was asked by a reporter what the most important day of her life had been. Expecting to hear the story of how her modeling career began, the reporter instead was shared a truth so traumatizing that action could not be spared. What is the most important day of your life? What action does it provoke?
